MISSION AND PURPOSE

To present to cowboys and those who enjoy the western lifestyle, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and to disciple them in their commitment to serve Jesus in their relationships and in the fellowship of the local church.  We also endeavor to reach out to the rural youth with the good news of Jesus’ love and to exemplify an alternative to the drug and alcohol-influenced lifestyle; to raise up a generation that is committed to Jesus Christ and walks in integrity, and does not compromise at any cost.

Spoon Creek Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.

Vision for the Future

Spoon Creek has a big dream and big plans to build a facility to house its annual Rodeo Bible Camp and Rough Stock Rodeo Schools along with future seminars, fund-raisers, and community events. Rodeo Bible Camp has an annual attendance of approximately 100 students, and each Rough Stock Rodeo School comes with its own logistics complications. For further information and to find out how you can help us achieve this dream, contact us at info@spooncreekrodeo.com.

History

In the early 90's a Fellowship of Christian Cowboys bible study was formed in the Kansas City area. Its members soon became involved in a local Christian camp located on Spoon Creek Road. After helping at a summer camp focused on rodeo events and biblical instruction in South Dakota, the members returned to the Kansas City area with a newfound vision.

In 1993 the first Spoon Creek Rodeo Bible Camp was hosted. In 2001 it found its way to the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner, Kansas until 2017 when it relocated to the Linn County Fairgrounds in Mound City, Kansas. Over the years it has grown into junior and senior camps with a variety of unique events and opportunities for students.
